You guys are sweet. Yes, we got jolted last night, a 4.2 officially. It was scary..earthquakes are common here but when a bigger one hits, it's very scary!!! Everyone was shaken up a bit around here. Broken glass/windows were reported, I think, could be wrong though. It kinda felt like a car slammed into our house. Everyone came outside and was freaking out a bit. It's kinda like you wait for aftershocks for a while..or maybe another quake. It's worrisome. The last noticeable one here was over a 5 and walls were swaying, there was home damage to several, etc. Between the smoke and quakes..not sure if I like the west much right now. My hubs and I were thinking..'where does nothing happen really?' We were thinking, Minnesota, when does bad news come from Minnesota? Perhaps the main bad news is the cold weather.
What a wonderful, wonderful bunch of people you all are. Thank you for all your kind thoughts yesterday. I ended up taking a slowwww walk around the park with my dog, then lifting weights, then yoga. My ankle is at about 2/3 now, so I'm swimming tonight. Exercise really takes the place of eating for me now ... well except for brownies, nothing can take the place of brownies!
Kalli, hope for an update soon. Earthquakes?! What next? Locusts? You poor thing :(
Twolf, I'm so sorry to hear there aren't any avenues for you in that small town. I think you should start a mail-order brownie business, and I will test your batches for you. Send ahead, I'm a helper like that ;P Seriously tho, a cute little bakery/bookstore would be so fun. I ran right to Amazon and read your book description and I have to get it! So you're great at dispensing book advice too. :)
RHM, *happy dance*!!! I'm so glad your mom is making progress!!
Mimi, your quote "bless her heart" made me run and look at all the videos on youtube. My mom's family is from the South, so whenever I hear that used I laugh. They use it like Mean-Statement followed by "bless her heart". "She was the dumbest thing ever, bless her heart". So you can say basically anything about someone as long as it follows with "bless her heart", but it looks like the Texans have perfected it and added even more nuances to it.
Chanel Bel Respiro today. I am wearing the heck out of Chanel this week. It makes me feel professional and chic and like ... "yep, I run this mother!". Although I can't picture Coco saying that. Well maybe she would because she was kinda friendly with those Nazis, bless her heart.
I'm wearing Paul Smith Women today and I'm rather disappointed with it to be honest. I bought it a long time ago when I was just learning what I like and I thought it was great back then, but it's a bit meh now.
Kalli- had you thought of dropping something on purpose just to make up your 3, just to stave off what could happen next? I often struggle not to envy people who have less crappy lives than me, but right now I really don't envy you right now. I hope that the fire is started to get under control and everybody is a little bit safer soon.
It looks like I've been missing a lot around here - sending hugs to kalli, and Wolfie, and it seems RHM and elizrj could use a few, too - ((((y'all))))!! I sure hope things start looking up for everyone soon. xo
I've been taking my morning runs around Central Park (in Bel Respiro) the last few days, and let me tell you, there's nothing like a run around Central Park! I did manage to get a bit of perfume shopping/browsing/sniffing done over the weekend and I'm pondering a purchase or two, but more on that later - right now it's all about the US Open and awesome tennis! Although, Roger got rained out last night ...but we got a bit of Lenny Kravitz before the rain, so it wasn't a total loss, hehe. And that means even more tennis crammed into today, so it's all good ...as long as the rain stays away.
It's been pretty warm so I've been keeping it light and lovely. Diorissimo feels just righttoday, vintage-70s edt.
Okay then, I'll see y'all later - have a great day!
