I have found that fragrances are one of the best ways to tell people who you are before you open your mouth. They can often speak for you, and for those who are reserved, can even say things about yourself you dare not. I have been searching for a cologne that tells the world who I am, something that will give an image before I am seen, a smell that will paint a picture that will be remembered after I'm gone. I have come across many reviews that attempt to set a scenery, or image that a scent can evoke. Like the description of Black Afgano being a walk through a forrest at twilight , sensing crawling. I would like a scent that draws a slightly different picture.
Whats in the picture you ask? A cool winters day. The snow sits on the ground, your breath is seen in the air. There is not even the slightest breeze, all is calm and silent. the sky is pale, unsaturated, uninterested. The scent is of a man dressed in black, draped yet refined. A man who doesn't speak much, yet he seems to always be in thought, brows slightly furrowed as if in contemplation. There is mystery, there is a distance that only creates yearning for those who observe. The scent cuts across the lungs just like the cold winter air. Is there a scent for this removed darkness? A scent that will leave someone short of breath, wanting more? Memorable?
In the searching I have done I have stumbled across Narciso Rodriguez for him and am considering buying. For those who have smelled it, will these images be invoked? If not can anyone suggest to me a scent like this.
