The Different Company
Un Parfum de Charmes et Feuilles
Notes: Marjoram, Peppermint, Sage, Serpolet (Wild Thyme), Jasmine Sambac, Grapefruit, Clementine, Patchouli.
A very nice blend of herbs and jasmine together with the deep, woody note of patchouli. This is very, very green — deeply and intensely so. The herb bouquet is splendid, especially with the citrus notes. The choice of the somewhat woody-camphoraceous Arabian (or night-blooming) jasmine (Jasminum sambac) for the floral note in this scent is also particularly suited for use with the sharp herbal notes, because this species of jasmine is also spicier, muskier, and more penetrating than either Jasminum officinale or the grandiflorum varieties. The drydown with patchouli in the base also marries well with that standout floral note, and when it mellows, it smooths out beautifully. This is a definite keeper.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, ...... Thanks to MizTinks I am able to give Troisieme Homme another go...first time around not much happened.
On me - for me - this is a great summer scent - a fresh, kaleidoscopic fougere. The opening is almost hesperedic - I think it's really the bergamot/geranium/carnation combo ackshully. There's a hint of the lavender and moss and the drydown has anise besides amber and patch.
These fougeres always make me think of accompanying my Daddy to the barbershop in The Village, (when it was just "The Village" and not Balkanized into the various "- Hos") growing up in Manhattan. Happy thoughts - happy smell.

As always ScentFather I am happy to be of assistance. Joop Homme has been worn exactly twice previously to this week in Week #7 and in Week #18. You and PigeonMurderer have equalled the total wears of the previous 23 weeks with your two wears this week.
For me today I was craving incense and courtesy of ScentMother ComDiva I had just the cure:
This is the church incense scent turned up to 11. Avignon is the same scent but the acoustic version. Today I feel the need to turn the incense amps up and luxuriate in it.
Have a Magnificent Monday.

I made the mistake of wearing a sample of Juicy Couture Dirty English. It stinks! Do people actually buy and wear this stuff?
Fine fragrance is alive; it breathes, unfolds and unravels with each passing hour....
- A spritz of Caron may be quite continental, but (a flacon of) Guerlain is a perfumisto's best friend...
two incredibly underwhelming fragrances....trying to see if I can bring out some life from either(or both) by layering.

I didn't expect this to have tuberose in it...I thought it was just orange and lemon blossoms. It's extremely hot today, and this scent is slightly cloying. I think I need to put this away until Fall.
